HEAT is a platform that is used by these types of users:
- Developers (termed as “Customers” from here on) who are using the HEAT service for various data processing purposes.
- Workers (aka Crunchers) who are a part of the globally distributed workforce operated by HEAT.
- Visitors that include all other people who visit the site but do not belong to either of the above categories.
What personal information do we collect from the people that visit us?
When registering or creating an account on our site, Customers and Crunchers are asked to enter different sets of information.
Customers are asked to enter name, email address, phones number and additional contact information. In order to use engage the service, entering billing information is required however credit card information is stored only by 3rd-party certified vendors (Stripe.com, Bluesnap, Zooz or equivalent).
Crunchers are asked to enter personal identification information as well as provide account payable information in order to get paid by HEAT, for their service.
When do we collect information?
We collect information from you when you register on our site or enter information on our site.
How do we use your information?
We may use the information we collect from you when you register, transact, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:
- To allow us to better service you in responding to your customer service requests.
- To quickly process your transactions.
- To send periodic emails regarding your order or other products and services.
How do we protect visitor information?
We do not use vulnerability scanning and/or scanning to PCI standards.
We do not use Malware Scanning.
Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.
We implement a variety of security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.
All payments are processed through a gateway provider and are not processed by our servers.
Do we use ‘cookies’?
Compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interactions in order to offer better site experiences and tools in the future. We may also use trusted third party services that track this information on our behalf.

We along with third-party vendors, such as Google use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) or other third-party identifiers together to compile data regarding user interactions with ad impressions, and other ad service functions as they relate to our website.

Google Analytics, Intercom, Inspectlet, Mouseflow or any equivalent to these systems including tracking systems developed internally by HEAT, may be used in order to study Customers’ and Crunchers’ usage of the site. Crunchers’ will occasionally be required to authenticate their identity via webcam.

COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act)
When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under 13, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control. We do not specifically market to children under 13.
